OceanICU at Sea An Unexpected Journey

On the third station of the expedition, a CTD rosette deployed to collect water samples was lost to the deep ocean, losing connection around 1500m. 

Thankfully, we have an unwavering team aboard the Sarmiento de Gamboa, who pressed on with determination despite this setback. In fact,  the UTM (Unidad de Tecnología Marina) team worked through the night to prepare a new CTD rosette and the research cruise was able to proceed to station four with only a minor delay.
