Nauzet Hernández-Hernández is a postdoctoral researcher for the Biological Oceanography Group (GOB) at the Oceanography and Global Change Institute (IOCAG) of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC). His research has focused on different aspects of the Biological Carbon Pump. Specifically, he has studied the effects of physical processes on the distribution, the community structure, and the spatial and temporal variability of phytoplankton organisms. Additionally, he has investigated the drivers of primary production in the Canary region, and the active flux of carbon into the deep ocean. Within the OceanICU project, Nauzet collaborates in WP4 by estimating microbial respiration in the ocean interior using the enzymatic respiratory activity (ETS ) approach , developing regional and global parametrisations.
